Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging

Individually Strong, Collectively Powerful

Air Products brings together talented people to develop innovative solutions for the challenges that face us, our customers, and our world. This is part of our higher purpose, as is creating a first-class company where people belong and matter and enjoy coming to work and are proud of what they do.

Our past and future success rely on promoting collaboration among people of different cultures and backgrounds. We are expanding the Air Products family globally by growing in new geographies. As we grow in new regions of the world, we bring with us our diversity and inclusion values to some areas where the societal roles of minorities and women are still evolving.

Day of Understanding, Week of Inclusion and Culture of Belonging at Air Products

Air Products is one of more than 2,000 organizations that have pledged to cultivate workplaces that support open dialogue on complex, and sometimes difficult, conversations about diversity, inclusion and belonging (DIB) in an effort to move the needle toward a more just and equitable world.

We recently joined organizations around the world in a Day of Understanding, followed by a Week of Inclusion, where Air Products employees across the company participated in courageous conversations about DIB. This Day of Understanding, Week of Inclusion is just one of the ways Air Products brings to life its commitment to CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ and supports the company’s goal of being the most diverse industrial gas company in the world.

Message from Seifi Ghasemi:

We stand together against the disease of racism.

We stand together against the malady of hate.

We stand together in our shared humanity and equality.

We stand together on the fundamental right of every person to be treated with dignity and respect.

We stand together.

Raising the Bar for Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging

Our higher purpose goes beyond just delivering superior financial performance. Our higher purpose includes bringing people from all walks of life together to collaborate and innovate solutions to the world’s most significant energy and environmental sustainability challenges.

To support our goal of being the most diverse industrial gas company in the world, Air Products is taking a measurable, transparent step to further increase the number of females and U.S. minorities in
professional and managerial roles. By 2025, we aim to achieve at least 28 percent female representation in these roles globally, and at least 20 percent minority representation in these roles in the U.S.

By being transparent about Air Products’ goals and our progress against them, we can visibly demonstrate our genuine commitment to diversity, inclusion and belonging, and bring everyone along on the journey with us.

Valuing Diversity

Air Products will be the safest, most diverse, and most profitable industrial gas company in the world, providing excellent service to our customers.

Diversity Goals
Reflect the places we do business and fully utilize the diversity of the available talent pool. By 2025, Air Products aims to achieve:

  1. At least 28 percent female representation in the professional and managerial population globally; and
  2. At least 20 percent minority representation in the same population in the U.S.

Inclusion Goals
Embed inclusive leadership practices to foster a respectful workplace where we routinely seek out diverse thinking and where people are empowered to confidently express their viewpoints.
