INOXAP commissions a PESO-licensed large package warehouse for specialty gases, at Tirunelveli, TN

Builds capability to offer multiple specialty gases in large packages to solar industry from a dedicated PESO-approved facility

The warehouse would offer safe storage and prompt supplies of high-purity gases that are indispensable in solar photovoltaic cell production

February 3rd, 2026, Mumbai: INOX Air Products Private Limited (INOXAP), one of India’s leading manufacturers of industrial, electronic and medical gases, has created a milestone by commissioning a PESO-licensed large package warehouse for specialty gases, at Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu. The newly licensed facility is authorised to store critical gases including Nitrous Oxide and Silane in tube trailers, and Hydrogen mixtures in y-toners, for exclusively catering to the consistent and large-quantity requirements of India's solar photovoltaic cell manufacturing ecosystem. This approval from Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) marks a significant step towards safety, regulatory compliance and operational capability within India’s industrial gases sector.

For INOXAP’s customers, particularly solar manufacturers, the facility provides an advantage in supply assurance and operational agility for gases. By maintaining substantial on-site inventories of mission-critical gases, INOXAP will be able to significantly reduce import lead times, minimise global supply disruptions and enhance production continuity. This further translates into improved operational efficiency and greater supply chain resilience for partners, supporting both capacity expansion and India’s solar energy objectives.

Speaking on this milestone, Siddharth Jain, Managing Director – INOX Air Products, said “This milestone marks a significant step in building India’s self-reliant solar energy ecosystem. By establishing this large package warehouse approved by PESO for specialty gases, we are not merely adding infrastructure, but are also strengthening the foundations of import reliability, safety and innovation, that India’s solar industry needs to scale with confidence. At INOX Air Products, our commitment is firmly nation-first, while investing ahead of demand and anticipating future industrial needs. We are proud to enable advanced manufacturing and support India’s journey towards energy security and global leadership in clean technologies. We are grateful to PESO for their progressive outlook which is enabling innovations like these.”

The new capability firmly positions INOXAP as an integrated and strategic partner in aiding large-scale solar manufacturing operations. With safety as the cornerstone of the warehouse’s core-design, the consolidated storage of mission critical gases at one location would optimise logistics, reduce import transit time and enable strategic stocking to respond swiftly to the dynamic customer demand.

INOXAP flags off India’s first LNG-fuelled cryogenic tanker

A policy amendment by DPIIT in the SMPV (Unfired) Rules 2016 allowed use of LNG as transport fuel for cryogenic transportation

The deployment marks a new era of sustainable transportation in the industrial gas industry

December 24, 2025: INOX Air Products (INOXAP), India’s leading industrial, electronic & specialty gas leader, has flagged off India's first LNG-fuelled cryogenic tanker approved by Petroleum & Safety Organization (PESO), a part of Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce. Making use of a June 2025 amendment by DPIIT in the Static and Mobile Pressure Vessels (Unfired) Rules, 2016, INOXAP became India’s first ever industrial gas manufacturer to achieve the unique distinction. The policy amendment highlights the Government’s vision of building usage of LNG as a transport fuel.

The cryogenic tanker would be fuelled by LNG through a 450 Litre Kryopower LNG Fuel tank, manufactured by INOX India Ltd, India’s largest cryogenic equipment manufacturer. As a result, the vehicle would cut CO₂ emissions by up to 25%, reduce particulates by 95%, and offer a quieter and more efficient operational performance, besides opening up a cleaner pathway for long-term cost optimization.

Speaking on this milestone, Siddharth Jain, Director - INOX Group, said, “INOXAP is spearheading a clean-energy shift in India’s industrial gases sector by flagging off the nation’s first LNG-fuelled cryogenic tanker—a transformative step that redefines sustainable logistics while strengthening supply chains for critical industries. We are grateful to DPIIT for enabling this through an extremely progressive policy amendment and PESO for necessary assistance and statutory approvals. This milestone exemplifies the powerful convergence of forward-looking policy, indigenous engineering excellence, and sustainable innovation. It sets a new benchmark in global engineering leadership while delivering scalable, green solutions to power India’s manufacturing ecosystem. INOXCVA’s LNG fuel tanks are already the most widely deployed in this space, and this achievement is a matter of pride that underscores the strength of synergy within the INOX Group.”

Inspired by the Make in India spirit, this achievement also stands as a true Made-in-Gujarat milestone, reflecting the state’s robust industrial and manufacturing ecosystem. Both the cryogenic tanker and the LNG fuel tank have been indigenously designed and manufactured at INOXCVA’s facilities in Gujarat. The industrial gases transported by this vehicle will be produced within the state by INOXAP and will primarily serve customers across Gujarat, reinforcing a highly localized, efficient, and resilient supply chain. This milestone has been enabled by the proactive and progressive support of relevant Gujarat State Government departments, depicting the state’s strong commitment to innovation, sustainability, and industrial growth.
