Major Projects in India

INOX Air Products is delivering some of the largest and most complex projects in the history of Indian Gases industry. Our success in executing these projects demonstrates our core capabilities to support the India’s largest projects with safety, reliability and operational excellence.

Green Hydrogen Plant for Asahi India Glass at Soniyana

Commissioned in March 2025, INOX Air Products’ first Green Hydrogen Plant at Asahi India Glass Limited’s greenfield float glass facility at Soniyana, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, operates under a 20-year Green Hydrogen offtake agreement signed in May 2024. The solar-powered plant has a capacity to generate up to 190 Tons Per Annum (TPA) of Green Hydrogen, with 95 TPA being supplied to Asahi India Glass in Phase 1. The Green Hydrogen is produced through electrolysis and consumed in the float glass manufacturing process. The project marks India’s first use of Green Hydrogen in the float glass manufacturing industry and demonstrates the application of renewable energy-based hydrogen for sustainable industrial production.

INOX Air Products is responsible for the design, engineering, installation and operations of the plant, along with continuous Green Hydrogen supply to the Asahi India Glass facility under the 20-year agreement. The project is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 1,250 tonnes annually, demonstrating INOX Air Products’ capabilities in Green Hydrogen production, long-term supply and industrial decarbonisation.

2150 TPD Air Separation Unit at SAIL’s Bokaro Steel Plant

NOX Air Products commissioned a 2150 Tons Per Day (TPD) Air Separation Unit at the Steel Authority of India Limited’s Bokaro Steel Plant in Jharkhand in January 2025, strengthening its long-term onsite gas supply partnership with SAIL. The project, announced in March 2022, represents an investment of INR 750 crore and is INOX Air Products’ largest Greenfield Oxygen Plant investment in India at the time of commissioning. The state-of-the-art ASU produces 2,000 TPD of Gaseous Oxygen, 150 TPD of Liquid Oxygen, 1,200 TPD of Gaseous Nitrogen and 100 TPD of Argon, and is the largest ASU installed at any SAIL facility.

The 2150 TPD ASU adds to the existing 1250 TPD ASU established by INOX Air Products at Bokaro in 2008. With the addition of the new ASU, INOX Air Products’ production capacity at the Bokaro facility exceeds 3,400 TPD from these two ASUs. The project demonstrates INOX Air Products’ capabilities in developing and operating large-scale air separation infrastructure and providing reliable onsite industrial gas supplies to the steel industry.

Comprehensive Specialty Gases Supply Chain for Tata Power Solar

Consolidating its position in the renewable energy supply chain, INOX Air Products serves as the dedicated Specialty Gases partner for Tata Group’s TP Solar Ltd (TPSL) cell and module manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. Following the award of a long-term specialty gases contract in January 2025, the company executes a comprehensive gas management solution for the supply, distribution, and onsite management of crucial electronic specialty gases, including Nitrous Oxide, Ammonia, Silane, and Trimethyl Aluminium (TMA).

To ensure seamless and reliable supplies, INOX Air Products operates a fully-equipped fulfillment center directly adjacent to the TPSL facility. This comprehensive infrastructure builds upon a foundational 15-year contract awarded in 2023 to provide an integrated ultra-high purity cryogenic Nitrogen generator and a dedicated pipeline for Ultra High Purity Oxygen at the same premises. Through these strategic, large-scale investments in dedicated supply chains and onsite generation, INOX Air Products consistently empowers emerging high-tech sectors like solar manufacturing.

India’s Largest Industrial Gas Complex Serving AM/NS India

INOX Air Products operates India’s largest onsite industrial gas complex, serving ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Ltd (AM/NS India) at Hazira, Gujarat. With six operational Air Separation Units (ASUs)—bolstered by recently commissioned sixth ASU in 2025, designed to generate 1,000 TPD of gaseous oxygen and 1,000 TPD of gaseous nitrogen, which scales the total combined capacity to 11,100 TPD. This new unit had a commissioning timeline of 23 months from the agreement date to support the ongoing steel manufacturing expansion program at Hazira.

This expansive infrastructure builds upon a long-term onsite gas supply partnership that originally commenced in 2005 with an 885 TPD cryogenic ASU on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis. The strategic relationship expanded significantly in 2014 when INOX Air Products acquired three existing 1,700 TPD ASU assets from the erstwhile Essar Steel, securing a long-term contract for the supply of all industrial gases. Through continuous investment and reliable operational execution, INOX Air Products has firmly cemented the Hazira facility’s position as India’s largest onsite industrial gas production complex.
